154901, 156200, III, 1935. 156201, 156850, IIIa 1/1000th, 1935. 156851, 157250, III, 1935. 157251, 175400, II, 1935. 157401, 158300, IIIa, 1935. 158301, 158350, Standard, 1935. 158351, 158400, II, 1935. 158401, 158650, IIIa, 1935. 158651, 159000, III, 1935. 159001, 159200, IIIa, 1935. 159201, 159350, Standard, 1935. This is the Elmar version of the Leica I(a). Models with four digits models are more valuable than those with five digits. Lately though, 0 serial numbers started to achieve higher premiums. Serial numbers as low as 50,000 are still floating around. Leica made lens number 1,000,000, a 50mm f/1.5 Summarit, on 24 October 1952, at which time they already had onver 100 years of experiance. Because of this orderly behavior, it it trivial to figure out when your lens was made.
