Waldorf Blofeld Patch Managerment
I've been playing around with my blofeld and want to have some of my custom patches on my computer for safe storage. I've been reading that you have to use a midi sequencer to get the files? Couldn't waldorf make this process a little easier hahah help me out here, I'm lost.:face palm. The Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard Synthesizer takes the renowned Blofeld synth module to its next logical destination: integration with a quality keyboard. That's just the beginning; the Blofeld Keyboard gives you 49 weighted keys with aftertouch, 25-voice polyphony, pitch bend and modulation wheels, and 60MB sample memory right onboard. There's one big issue for sure: Waldorf doesn't offer an official editor for Blofeld (besides Spectre, offering sample management for own wavetables). Although the display is quite huge, well readable and after a while makes the synth easily editable, this is nothing for experienced sound designers who like.

COLOSSUS
As the name implies, COLOSSUS is a massive, high-quality virtual instrument that covers all of the basic musical genres, the way a keyboard workstation attempts to, except COLOSSUS offers much higher quality instruments and dynamics. It provides you with a staggering 32GB of content and over 160 instruments to work with.
COLOSSUS is an indispensable tool you will reach for time and time again when nothing else works. It will become your Swiss army knife of composing, plus it's GM compatible! And you can expect the usual exceptional Quantum Leap quality in COLOSSUS. Even if you own some of these instruments, you will love this collection. A good example is the Fender Rhodes. Despite the fact the Rhodes has been sampled many times, COLOSSUS includes a unique vintage sounding Rhodes you won't find anywhere else. COLOSSUS includes 15GB of new sounds recorded at Ocean Way Studio B (24-bit), a new, 2GB piano recorded in Europe, and 15GB of instruments from the award-winning range of Quantum Leap and EASTWEST titles (EW/QL Symphonic Orchestra, EW Steinway B Piano, QL Stormdrum, QL Guitar and Bass, QL 56 Strat, QL Hardcore Bass, QL RA, QL Brass, QL Voices of the Apocalypse), all newly programmed with superior sound quality.
Programming is kept very simple, and programs that utilize the mod-wheel are labeled appropriately. All programs have CC11 asan additional volume control. Many programs utilize auto sample alternation for added realism.
For touring or studio musicians, COLOSSUS is an indespensible production tool that has incredible instruments of every type for song-writing, filmscoring, multi-media production, in the studio, or on the stage.
Waldorf Blofeld Black
Coffeeshopped developer Chadwick Wood has updated his iPad patch editing app, Patch Base, adding a patch editor and librarian for the Waldorf Blofeld.
Here’s what Wood has to say about the editor:
This new editor works for both the Desktop and Keyboard editions.
The Blofeld is a powerful digital polysynth, with 3 oscillators (with dozens of waveforms), 2 filters, 4 envelopes, 3 LFOs, 2 multi-effects modules, 4 control modifiers, 16 modulation routes, and a 16-step configurable arpeggiator (sort of crossed with a sequencer). And to control this beast, the synth itself only has a handful of knobs and buttons and a navigation screen.
So naturally, the Blofeld is a great fit for Patch Base.
This new editor puts all of those main patch parameters on one main screen, with quick switches to go between the multiple oscillators, envelopes, etc. You can get a much clearer picture of what’s going on with a sound this way, and create new sounds with great speed. And on the arpeggiator screen, you can go deep into the sequencing capabilities of the synth. A single arpeggiator line can provide bars and bars of melodic variation (and chords, too). Frankly, it’s nuts.

Patch Base is a free download, but support for specific synths is added via In-App purchases.
